Jungle Upgrades & Winter Night Shred: The July Trail Report

The tropical north is heating up while the south is dialling in for the mid-winter grind. Here is what is firing on the Aussie trails this week.

Smithfield Expansion: The Design is Locked

Massive news out of Cairns: the next stage of the $15.5 million Smithfield expansion has officially been unlocked. The masters at World Trail have completed the final design, and the dirt is about to start moving. We are looking at a nearly tripled trail count, all-weather upgrades, and some serious technical descents that will make the home of Aussie DH even more iconic. Gearing up for the QLD State DH Champs in August? You might want to start your training block now.

Lysterfield Night Racing returns

Closer to home in Victoria, the lights are coming out. Race #7 at Lysterfield is locked in for July 24th. There is nothing quite like redlining through the singletrack under lights with that crisp winter air hitting your lungs. If you have never raced XCC at night, it is a sensory overload you need to experience at least once.

Winter Rig Checklist

Between the humid jungle clay and the southern winter muck, your gear is taking a beating. A vague front end is the fastest way to find a tree in these conditions.
