Willunga DH Washout & Victorian Schools Heat Up

Winter racing in Australia is always a bit of a lottery, and this weekend the weather definitely had the winning ticket.

The fourth round of the 2026 National Series DH rolled into Willunga, SA, but the legendary track turned into a literal river after a proper winter soaking. With conditions getting rowdy, officials were forced to call the race on qualifying runs. Massive props to the Red Hill Riders crew who made the trek over—navigating that red clay mud at race pace takes a special kind of commitment.

Groms on the Gas

Closer to home, the Victorian Mountain Bike Schools Series is carrying some serious momentum. After a solid kickoff at Dromana and Lysterfield, the future of the sport is looking exceptionally fast. Seeing the junior fields grow every round is exactly what the scene needs. If you've got a grom at home itching to race, these events are the gold standard for getting between the tapes in a low-stress environment.

Tacky Dirt, Gritty Gears

While the loam is at its absolute prime right now, that winter grit is a silent killer for your hardware. If you're hitting the hill this weekend, don't let a vague cockpit or a slipping foot ruin your run on the tacky stuff.
