Rainforest Rumbles & Superflow Send-its: Australia’s April Dirt Report
Yo Shredders!
The Aussie dirt is firing on all cylinders this April! While some of the alpine tracks are starting to chill out, the tropical north and the Victorian heartlands just delivered some of the most electric racing we've seen all season. If you weren't there, you missed out on absolute carnage and pure speed.
1. Cairns Rainforest Rumble: Tropical Chaos
Cairns just wrapped up the Rainforest Rumble at Smithfield (April 16-19), and it was every bit as brutal as the name suggests. Over 650 riders descended on the iconic jungle tracks. The humidity was high, the roots were greasy, and the downhill runs were legendary. Seeing the elite crews navigate those tight, fern-lined lines at speed reminds us why Cairns is a world-class MTB Mecca. If you haven't ridden the Smithfield jungle yet, put it on your bucket list—but bring your best tires; you'll need the grip!
2. Victoria: The Superflow Finale at Silvan
Down south, the Fox Superflow VIC Series just had its grand finale at Silvan MTB Park. The vibes were high and the 'Race The Way You Ride' format continues to be the best way to spend a weekend. We saw everything from school shredders at the Dandenong Comp to series veterans pinning it for the podium. Silvan delivered the classic tacky dirt and technical challenges we love.
3. Adventure is Calling: Thunderbolts & More
This weekend (April 24-26), the focus shifts to the long-haul legends at the Thunderbolts Adventure. Whether you're on a gravel rig or a hardtail, it's all about that backcountry grind.
4. Is Your Rig Ready?
With all this action, your gear is taking a beating. We’ve noticed a lot of 'Cairns squeal' out there—don't be that rider on the trail. If your stopping power is fading after those long rainforest descents, check out our BUCKLOS Silent-Stop Pads. They're Kevlar-reinforced to handle the heat and the grime of a tropical shred session.
Keep the rubber side down and stay stoked!
