Leogang World Cup: Dust, Roots, and Junior Speed Records

The heat is on in Saalfelden Leogang. Practice for the UCI Downhill World Cup is in full swing, and the track is behaving like a high-speed sandpit.

As the European summer kicks in, the infamous Leogang "Motorway" section has turned into a dusty drag strip. Junior qualifying has already thrown up some surprises, with Rosa Zierl taking the top spot in Junior Women and Jonty Williamson setting a blistering pace in the Junior Men's field.

Our local heroes are finding their rhythm on the steep Austrian slopes. Troy Brosnan is looking typically precise through the root-infested woods, carrying huge exit speed into the jumps. Meanwhile, Zoe Cuthbert is showing elite-level fitness, consistently posting fast sector times in the physical lower sections. Qualifying starts tomorrow, and the times are already separated by mere tenths of a second.
