Leogang World Cup 2026: Downhill Practice Commences as the Austrians Turn Up the Heat
The wait is over. The UCI Downhill World Cup has officially landed in Saalfelden Leogang, Austria, and practice day did not disappoint.
Known for its mix of insanely high-speed bike park sections and steep, off-camber root gardens, Leogang always pushes riders and equipment to the absolute limit. With the Austrian summer bringing high temperatures, the track is bone-dry and running lighting-fast. The dust is flying, and the "Motorway" section is looking like a high-stakes drag strip.
The Australian Contenders
Practice timing showed several Aussies are already finding their feet on the steep Austrian slopes:
- Troy Brosnan: Looking incredibly smooth through the tight, technical woods. His bike setup looks dialled for the dry, chatter-filled braking bumps.
- Zoe Cuthbert: Carrying massive momentum into the high-speed jumps. If she can keep this pace through qualifying, a podium is well within reach.
Equipment Under Pressure
When you're hitting G-outs at 65km/h and slamming into rock gardens, you need parts you can trust with your life. A stiff cockpit and maximum tire traction are the difference between a podium and a trip to the hospital.
Gear up like the pros:
- ENLEE Carbon Mudguards - Keep that fine Austrian dust off your stanchions and out of your fork seals.
- Bucklos Lock-On Grips - Because arm pump is the enemy when wrestling a DH rig down 1,000m of vertical drop.
- ZTTO Spacer & Top Cap Kits - Solid, CNC-machined reliability to keep your front end tight and rattle-free.
Qualifying kicks off tomorrow. Stay tuned for our full results wrap-up.
