Goldfields Glory: Creswick's New 60km Djuwang Baring Network is Unlocked

Goldfields riding is about to get a major upgrade. Cutting through a spectacular mix of native bushland, rugged gold-rush era topography, and towering pine plantations, the all-new 60-kilometre Djuwang Baring network in Creswick is officially open for business.

Located just northwest of Melbourne, near the historic gold-mining town of Creswick, this purpose-built trail network represents a massive milestone for Victorian riding. Named "Djuwang Baring" (meaning 'trail of the forest' in the local Dja Dja Wurrung language), the network was constructed by Dirt Art and features some of the most beautifully sculpted, progressive, and flowy trails in the country.

What is on the menu?

Creswick has always had a rich mining history, and the trail builders have utilized the old gold-rush mullock heaps and sluice gullies to create incredibly unique trail features. With 60 kilometres of purpose-built singletrack, there is a massive range of riding on offer:

  • Goldfields Flow: Think massive, high-speed hip jumps, sculpted berms, and rhythm rollers that let you carry serious, effortless speed through the pine forests.
  • Technical Gold-Rush Singletrack: Hand-built tech lines traversing old gold-mining craters, steep off-camber root sections, and rocky chutes that will test your line choice.
  • The Hammon Park Trailhead: A world-class hub complete with a pump track, skills area, and bike wash, making it the perfect starting point for a massive day in the forest.

Dial Your Front End for Goldfields Clay

Riding the clay-heavy soils of the Victorian goldfields is a unique experience. When it is dry, it is super fast and dusty; when it gets damp, it becomes incredibly tacky—but slippery if you do not have the right setup. Stepping up your cockpit control is the best way to conquer these fast, undulating trails.

Upgrade your setup for the goldfields:

Load up the bike, head northwest to Creswick, and go get some of that legendary Victorian goldfields loam.

Send it.
